KINGDOM STEWARDS

Jesus instructed us in Matthew 6:33 to first aim at and strive after the kingdom and righteousness of God, that in doing this all other things of life shall be made available unto us. To seek His kingdom, implies that we endeavour to belong to it, be recognized in it and pursue to promote the interests of it.

A major interest of the kingdom is the care and comfort of the people. King Solomon asked for wisdom to judge the great people of God, it was granted and other enablers were added for the fulfillment of that interest. The Samaritan who helped the man that fell among thieves on his way from Jerusalem to Jericho exhibited true kingdom compassion and was justified as a good neighbour. Dorcas is another example of a heart set on kingdom interest, a heart adorned with the milk of kindness, she was known and celebrated for her good works and alms deeds.  Acts 9:36.

As we seek His kingdom, it must be done in righteousness, for pure religion that is undefiled before God and the Father is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. To tell a brother or sister who is naked and destitute of daily food to depart in peace, be warm and filled without satisfying that need is simply living in faith without the works of faith which profits us nothing.

Jesus speaking on the values of the kingdom reminded us that we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth, to this we must add value to the lives around us and fill the earth with His fruit of kindness. It is worthy of note, that when Jesus shall come in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory to separate His sheep from the goats. The sheep shall be on His right hand, the blessed of the Father, they shall inherit the kingdom of God, but the goats on the left shall depart into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. A major criteria to qualify as a sheep is to feed the hungry, provide for the thirty, accommodate the strangers, cloth the naked, visit the sick and care for those in prison.

In Men of Praise International Fellowship, besides feeding the poor with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and bringing them to drink from the living water, we are also delighted to fulfill this work of compassion by providing shelter, care, covering, food and refreshment to the needy. See details of our activities so far.
